Satin
Silk satins are a popular variety of fabric used
for a varied end use. When made into dresses satin gives
an elegant look.
Georgette
Silk Georgette has a grainy texture and a sheer
feel. Similar to silk crepe, but is not as soft or lustrous
as crepe. Georgette is durable, but snags easily. Drapes
very fluidly, and falls into soft ripples. Great for
loose, full blouses, evening wear, dresses and skirts.
Chiffon
Chiffon is elegant and sheer, with a very slightly
rough feel to it. Chiffon is lightweight but strong.
Chiffon is softer and thinner than Georgette, sometimes
called 'Crepe Chiffon'. Georgette is made like chiffon,
but a two or three ply yarn is used.
Crepe
Produced from 2-ply twisted yarn, twist and woven
on power loom. It is a luxurious fabric with a good
sheen and a pebbly texture. Crepe has a beautiful drape,
and is great for semi-fitted to loose-fitted styles
of dresses, blouses, suits, bridal gowns and evening
wear.
Tabby
Tabby Silk is a very light weight silk fabric. As
it's an ideal fabric for printing it is mostly used
for scarves, pareos, bandanas etc.
